BMO Field Expansion
Totaling 10,000 cubic meters, the BMO Field Expansion is a two-phase improvement project to the existing BMO Field located along Toronto’s Lakeshore West. The first phase adds a second level to the east stand, increasing capacity by 8400 seats and yielding more facilities for attendees, a wrap-around concourse and a new high-definition jumbotron. The $55 million second phase includes the installation of four enormous columns that will support the roof of the stadium. This canopy shelters all of the seats in the field with the exception of the north stand. This phase also consists of instigating a rigging system for tifo displays, comparable to those in European stadiums, along with a new sound and lighting system.
